Call-recording Software
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Call recording software records telephone conversations over PSTN or VoIP in a digital audio file format. Call recording is distinct from call logging and tracking, which record details about the call but not the conversation; however, software may include both recording and logging functionality. Call recording is becoming increasingly important, with technology changing and working habits becoming more mobile. Addressing mobile recording is now the subject of many financial regulators' recommendations. It is also increasingly important to business continuity planning, especially for pandemic planning. The actual recording takes place on a recording system with software for the management of calls and security of recordings. Most call recording software applications rely on an analogue signal via either a call recording adapter or a telephony board.

Is GPL really a "free" license?
People who write GPL programs and libraries never get hungry, they have no girlfriends, no children, and they do not pay rent. I mean if you write something for which you are NOT paid, how do you survive? Why is GPL called "free" software?
Joe failed to encourage you to release your software under a version of GPL license, and give you directions how to do so. A common mistake it seems amongst people "who do not have families nor eat", unfortunately I also seek the same answer, maybe we can get more responses. 1. You have to get 'in' with the community, and have a very useful product/library before you will make any money as far as I can see. The gap in GPL is that if I pay for Joe's GPL source, and re-publish it for free (which I may do) I cut off Joe's little business selling CD-Roms. BUT Joe's name will still be on the source + the program executable as the original author. I can also choose to charge for supporting of the application and or code. Either way the community benefits. Free software will continue to pour out of Universities, Companies offering paid support/consultation/packaging/distribution-networks, and individuals who manage to find the time to get started. 2. Alex's question has been asked so often on Yahoo with no simple answer. The question hence is left un-answered. How do you do it?

What is a Free Software license that I can use for my software that releases its source code? (i.e. GPL)?
I've been developing software for years, but I've never really given consideration to releasing my source code with copyright. I know that a lot of Open Source software uses the GNU Public License (GPL) and modified versions of it, and I would use this, but I want to restrict people from taking my source code and publicly re-distributing their modified versions and calling it their own. It would be alright to modify it for their own personal use, but I do not want people using the source code of my game engine that I'm writing from scratch and using it for their own games without saying it came from me--but basically, I'd just like to release the source code under a license restricting people from publicly releasing their modified versions. What is the best license to use in this case for my software before I complete it and release it?
Look at the Creative Commons. From what it sounds like -- you want the CC-BY-ND license (Creative Commons - Attribution Required - No Derivatives) http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/
What VoIP software does conference calls?
I need four things in a VoIP software client. 1) Must do conference calling (multiple phone calls). 2) Must be easy to use, or is able to work with other services. 3) Must either be cross-platform, or has clients for Windows, Linux, and Mac. 4) GPL or similar licensing preferred.
I know Skype can do conference calls, is relatively easy, and has clients for Windows, Mac, and Linux -- but it's not Free Software. Google Talk is free, but does not have a Mac or Linux client. Jabbin does not support conference calls.

Are you allowed to re code/re brand wordpress?
Hey
I love wordpress, its functions and the team that support it are second to none. But ..
Im starting a web design company here shortly and im wondering what limitations wordpress has with it? i know its open GPL software but are we allowed to basically take it, rip it up a little and call it our own with no links back to wordpress at all?
We want to use a white lable solution for our clients as some of them wont be happy using a branded product. I have looked around for decent coders but they are finding it difficult to incorporate all the features that wordpress uses.
Any help or advise would be great!
